
ABS-CBN brings you the special live coverage of Barack Obama's historic Presidental Inauguration tomorrow, Tuesday (Jan 20), from 10:30 PM to 2:00 a.m.
Channel 2 and Studio 23 will hook up with the ABS-CBN News Channel's (ANC) ongoing coverage anchored by Ricky Carandang and Ces Drilon.
ABS-CBN's North America Bureau Chief Ging Reyes, together with Rodney Jaleco and Don Tagala, bring you the latest updates straight from Washington D.C. as the United States' 44th and first African-American President takes his oath.
Charie Villa, ABS-CBN's vice president for newsgathering, is also in Washington as a guest of the United States government for the International Visitor Leadership Program.
Charie is the only representative from the Philippines and she will give fresh updates on the event as well to Filipino viewers around the world.
The ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) began its 3-day coverage of the new American president's inauguration Monday on "Mornings@ANC" and will run until Wednesday, January 21.
In Tuesday's run-up to the event, ANC will air live reports from the North America bureau every hour. From 8 p.m. "Strictly Politics" and "Big Picture" will tackle the challenges facing Obama and how his policies will impact on the ASEAN region and Asia in general through foreign and local experts as guests. "Business Nightly" will do also highlight the inauguration. Live coverage will start at 10 p.m. during World Tonight.
Abs-cbnnews. com will have a micro-site on the inauguration and will feature a live blog on the events and reporters' experiences.
The inaugural celebration, which starts at 10 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time) on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol (11:00 PM Manila time), will include Obama's oath taking, using President Lincoln's Inaugural Bible, to be administered by Chief Justice John Roberts, as well as his highly anticipated inaugural address.
Vice President-elect Joe Biden will also take his oath, alongside a musical rendition by the United States Marine Band, San Francisco Boys Chorus, San Francisco Girls Chorus, and singer Aretha Franklin.
