On Wednesday, Barretto inked a 2-year contract with the Kapuso network at GMA Network Center. Reports said her parents accompanied her when she signed the deal.
Present during the contract signing were the network’s top executives, reports added.
This development came more than a month after she signed a two-film contract with Viva Films.
Barretto, a contract star of ABS-CBN for almost 17 years, was considered to be one of the biggest stars of the Kapamilya network.
In October, Barretto denied that she was leaving ABS-CBN in spite of signing a contract with Viva Films. Originally, she was scheduled to do a television series with her older sister, Gretchen Barretto, on ABS-CBN, but the project was cancelled.
Her last television series with ABS-CBN was "Iisa Pa Lamang" in 2008. This year, she appeared on "May Bukas Pa" as a guest star.

Lumipat man sya walang mawawala sa madaming talent ang ABS. Sana lang ng isip muna sya kung tama ang desisyon nya kc kung titignan lahat ng lumipat sa GMA7 till now wala nman ngbago sa kanila kilala pa rin sila kung sino sila sa ABS. Samantalang pag ang artist ng GMA7 ang lumipat sa ABS isang project lang kilala agad ng tao tulad ni tony sa PBB, Anne sa Dyosa at c jake na d tlaga ganun kakilala ngaun tawag sa kanya "Palos" at marami pang iba. Well tapos n pirmahan good luck na lang kay Claudine.
that's why its better if all actors/actresses were FREELANCERS and not exclusive stars to ABS-CBN, GMA or whatever. that way you could find work on any network, they dont have to wait for a long time for a project from their "mother network". Look at Ryan Agoncillo. He has work in GMA-7 (Eat Bulaga), TV5, and on ABS-CBN....
i'm getting tired of seeing the same artistas working with the same people anyway. if you have these actors and actresses being able to work on any network you get more variety of team ups....
para sa akin tama lang na lumipat si claudin sa kapuso network para naman sya makilala hindi lang sa abs kundi pati na rin sa gma-7.Im sure talaga ako sa paglipat ni claudine sa gma-7 marami talaga siyang project na matatanggap dahil sa napakagaling niyang actress.di ba?bravo!JEJEJE
