Kris Aquino backs out of 'Pilipinas Got Talent'

MANILA, Philippines – Television host-actress Kris Aquino has turned down an offer to be one of the judges of ABS-CBN’s "Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT)” to have more time with her family.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Aquino said being part of PGT entails “so much travel,” which in effect will cut down whatever time she has for her 2 sons, Josh and Baby James, and husband, cager James Yap.

Aquino is already swamped with work. Aside from hosting “The Buzz” and “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon,” she is also taping every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for her upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye.

“Nakaka-uwi ako 4 to 5 in the morning from the soap. Tapos Tuesday, Thursday before lunch hindi ako mapakinabangan,” she said.

“’Yong mga kids hinahanap talaga ako. And even if James is not complaining, parang sabi niya, 2 weeks pa lang ang taping, ‘Gaano katagal nga ba yan?’” she added.

Aquino said she already discussed her decision to channel head Cory Vidanes. She added that “there will be other judges who are even better than me.”

“Sabi ko, ‘I don’t have to be selfish. Hindi kailangan na bawat show na i-offer niyo sa akin, akin na.’ Sabi ko, ‘Sorry, it’s a decision for my kids and for my health,’” she said.

She admitted that it was a hard decision, but she said she had to make that choice.

PGT is a reality television series patterned after the popular “Britain’s Got Talent (BGT)” and “America’s Got Talent.”

Similar to other “Got Talent” series, the Philippine version of the talent show will also feature singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other performers from all ages.

It will be hosted by actor-host Luis Manzano and international Filipino artist Billy Crawford.

Diether Ocampo talks about the reunion with his ‘Gimik 10’ co-stars

Dalawa ang project para kay Diether Ocampo na ipapalabas next year. Isa na nga rito ay ang Filipino adaptation ng Mexicanovela hit na Rubi. Si Diet ang leading man ni Angelica Panganiban na gaganap sa title role. Kasama rin sa teleserye sina Jake Cuenca at Shaina Magdayao. Ani Diet, isa sa mga pinakamalaking teleserye ang Rubi para sa susunod na taon dahil nagsanib puwersa umano dito ang dalawang business units, from the creators of Iisa Pa Lamang at Tayong Dalawa.

“Natutuwa ako siyempre dahil lahat ng pinaghirapan namin mapapanood na nila and nakakatuwa dahil… may mga bago kaming shows na maio-offer sa kanila,” ani Diet noong nakaraang Trade Launch na ginanap sa Subic Bay, Olongapo City.

Abot-tenga rin ang ngiti ng aktor nang tanungin siya sa isa pa niyang project, ang Gimik 10, kung saan nag-reunion ang original cast ng successful youth-oriented show noong 1990s, ang Gimik. “Parang nag-transport kami, very nostalgic ang feeling. Maraming nag-flashback sa ‘yong mga memories kaya finally nung nagkita-kita kami, finally we were able to work again together,” kuwento ni Diether. “It was such a great experience and everyone really enjoyed. In fact si Bojo (Molina) umuwi pa from Guam.” Kabilang din sa TV special na ito sina Judy Ann Santos, Dominic Ochoa, Marvin Agustin, Jolina Magdangal, Mylene Dizon, G. Toengi, LJ Moreno. “Everyone was really excited about the reunion,” bida pa ng aktor.
