After playing Coco in an episode of Precious Hearts Romances presents Bud Brothers, Denise Laurel will star in another PHR offering entitled, You’re Mine Only Mine which is a part of the Quikilig ‘short romance stories’ collection. Denise described how this new story is different from the past offerings of the afternoon romance series. “The past PHR chapters showed more of how a woman can love so dearly. Dito naman makikita kung paano magmahal ang lalaki. He guards his heart and the woman he loves. The story is also about the love for family. Here we get to understand why we do things dahil sa pagmamahal natin sa pamilya natin.”
Denise shared her excitement that she’s proud to be given a chance to play another character in the PHR series that female followers PHR can easily identify with. “I will play the role of Roxanne. Ayoko naman ibigay ‘yung buong story kasi gusto ko surprise. Pero makikita niyo ‘yung different sides ni Roxanne, paano siya magmahal bilang babae, kapatid, anak, nag-iisang anak na babae. Namatay na rito ‘yung tatay ko kaya ako na ‘yung breadwinner. May mga mangyayaring unexpected events that will lead me to meet si Alex. Nakakatuwa ‘yung character ko kasi mahinhin at sweet siya pero kapag kailangan niyang maging palaban bigla siyang nagiging matapang.”
Denise’s leading man is hunky actor-model Will Devaughn, who was also part of the cast of Bud Brothers. The 22-year-old actress said she is happy that the unit PHR has also hired her for two other chapters of the series, Midnight Phantom and the Kristine series. “Nakasama ko si Will sa Bud Brothers pero hindi kami magka-partner dun. Si John Prats ang leading man ko and that was my first time working with him. I’m also doing another PHR, ‘yung Midnight Phantom. Si Rafael Rosell naman ang leading man ko dun na kasama ko rin siya dati sa Bud Brothers. I’m happy that I’m given the chance to be with different leading men because mas naipapakita ko ‘yung iba’t ibang side ko as an actress.”
Right after You’re Mine Only Mine, Denise will next be seen in Midnight Phantom opposite Rafael Rosell. The project, which began last year, was put on hold for a while when director Cathy Garcia Molina had to focus on finishing the movie Miss You Like Crazy starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. Then after Midnight Phantom, Denise will gear up for another role in the Kristine series of PHR, to be top-billed by Cristine Reyes and will also star Rafael and Zanjoe Marudo.
