After the success of his debut album Paano Na Kaya, which was recently made into a movie by Star Cinema, Pinoy Dream Academy Season Two scholar Bugoy Drilon releases his second album under Star Records. Bugoy feels proud and thankful at the same time as he did not expect that his singing career will go as far as a second album.
The self-titled album’s carrier single is “Hindi na Bale,” a cover of Jessa Zaragosa’s hit song, has already taken the number one spot in some radio stations. He admits that he feels pressured with the second album and hopes that it will be just as successful as the first. “Nung nag-click po yung first album ko na Paano Na Kaya tsaka yung song ko na Muli, hopeful po ako na mag-click po ito, actually po three weeks na sa isang radio station na number 1 yung song ko, tsaka sa ibang radio stations din po nagnu-number one na po siya kaya happy na din po ako na pini-play na nila, malakas po yung airing ng song ko kaya thankful po ako.”
Among the seven tracks in the album, Bugoy pinpoints “Sana Ibigin Mo” as his favorite. ABS-CBN.com asked him if he can relate to the song. “Maganda kasi yung lyrics niya kaya nararamdaman ko yung pagkakakanta ko nung kantang yun. I mean, hindi ko masasabing nakaka-relate ako kasi hindi pa naman po ako nai-inlove kaya masasabi ko lang na nagagandahan lang po talaga ako sa lyrics and tono, mahilig po ako kumilatis ng tono.”
According to Bugoy, one of the biggest rewards of his career is that he gets to travel and perform in different countries which he never imagined himself doing. “Kararating ko lang po galing Japan kasama ko po sina Kuya Sam Milby, nag-show po kami, kasama sila Laarni Lozada, Zanjoe Marudo, tsaka may mga naka-line-up na rin po na mga out-of-the-country tsaka guestings. Hindi ko nga akalain na mararating ko ito, thankful ako dahil nakakapunta ako sa States at sa Japan naranasan ko yung culture nila, ang sarap, gusto ko pa makapunta sa iba pa. Masarap din mag-perform sa mga Pilipino doon iba po yung caring nila sa mga artists na Pilipino, nagbibigay sila ng mga gifts sa amin and grabe yung mga sigawan nila.”
