One of the sexiest females in Philippine showbiz, Cristine Reyes top-bills yet another major teleserye of ABS-CBN, entitled Kristine, which is based on the popular Precious Hearts Romances (PHR) pocket books. When she moved to the Kapamilya network in 2008, Cristine made primetime television sizzle when she played the title role in the sexy drama Eva Fonda, a performance that earned her a Best Actress nomination from the Seoul International Drama Awards in South Korea. What followed after Eva Fonda were several “less-daring” projects, which included two PHR teleserye chapters—Bud Brothers and My Cheating Heart.
But it seemed that Cristine is about to do another sexy portrayal on TV via the Kristine series. How true is it that she is preparing to bare more skin and do love scenes in this new teleserye? “Hindi ko masabi kung gaano ka sexy ang mga eksena dito kasi hindi pa kami nagte-taping. Abangan na lang nating lahat. Ngayon siguro kailangan kong magpatuloy sa diet para ready ako sa kung anong love scene. Siyempre importante rin na aralin ko ‘yung script para magampanan ko nang mahusay ‘yung role ko,” the actress revealed.
Cristine’s leading man in Kristine will be the model-actor Zanjoe Marudo. As early as now talks are going around that Zanjoe’s girlfriend, TV host-actress Mariel Rodriguez, is worried over his intimate scenes with Cristine. “Hindi talaga maiiwasan na magkaroon kami ng mga romantic scenes ni Zanjoe dito kasi nga kami ‘yung magka-partner sa story. Pero work lang naman ‘yun. Friends naman kami ni Mariel and I know maiintindihan naman niya. Hindi niya ako pagseselosan,” Cristine explained.
Cristine and Zanjoe first got to work together in the weekly gag show Banana Split. She left the show a few episodes after he and other stars were introduced in the new format of the program. Nevertheless, Cristine shared she is excited over his new leading who she found to be a natural joker. “Sandali ko lang nakasama si Zanjoe sa Banana Split. Ngayon hindi pa kami nakakapag-taping. Pero so far ang napansin ko kay Zanjoe palabirong tao ‘yan. Mukhang maraming tawanan na mangyayari sa set kapag nagtaping na kami.”
