Karen Davila, an acclaimed television and radio anchor is among the three Filipinos chosen as “Young Global Leaders for 2010” by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Together with Dennis Eclarin of Hometown Corp. and information technology leader and Winston Damarillo of Global Gateway Innovative Exchange, Davila will join other honorees like world-famous tennis player Roger Federer, singer Wyclef Jean, and the founders of Internet hubs like Twitter, Google, and Youtube.
The three Filipino achievers belong to the 40-and-younger set of executives, stakeholders and influential personalities who “represent the voice of the future and the hopes of the next generation,” according to Klaus Schwab, WEF founder and executive chair.
“It’s a privilege to have a voice in the global arena and have a part in shaping policy when it comes to issues of health, education, women, and children,” Davila said.
Karen Davila is known for her works on women’s and children’s issues, Davila has been awarded before by bodies such as the UNICEF and the New York Festivals for her documentaries on children in jail and babies afflicted with biliary artersia.
